The Lead Engineer is accountable for the technical success of squad delivery. This role exists to guide solution design, manage technical risk, and ensure the integrity and scalability of the capabilities delivered by the squad. The Tech Lead translates product/capability intent into implementable technical outcomes, balancing architectural soundness with delivery pragmatism. Leading through handson contribution, the Tech Lead ensures that what the squad builds is fit for purpose in production.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor’s, Honour’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7–10 years’ handson software engineering experience delivering productiongrade systems within a product delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated experience owning technical solution design and implementation within a squad or delivery team context.
  • Proven ability to design, build, and operate scalable, maintainable technical systems in production environments.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders to translate product requirements into implementable technical solutions.
  • Practical experience managing technical tradeoffs involving scalability, performance, delivery timelines, and system reliability.
  • Experience working with system integrations, APIs, or distributed services within an enterprise or platform ecosystem.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

  • Own solution design and technical execution within the squad.
  • Ensure code, design, and implementation meet agreed engineering standards.
  • Guide tradeoff analysis within the squad (e.g. scalability vs delivery speed).
  • Manage technical risk, dependencies, and integration complexity during delivery.
  • Partner with Product and Design to translate product intent into implementable technical solutions.
  • Ensure delivered services are observable, supportable, and resilient in production.

WHO YOU ARE?

  • Have a strong proficiency in preferred programming languages, frameworks, and delivery tooling used by the squad.
  • Able to makes informed technical decisions in the context of delivery timelines and constraint.
  • Manages technical dependencies, integration points, and deliverylevel risks.
  • Lead through handson contribution and technical example.
