The Data Analytics Lead is responsible for leading the Business Intelligence and Analytics function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the organisation. The role drives analytics maturity, establishes reporting standards, develops analytical capabilities, and manages a team of BI and analytics professionals to deliver business value through data. The role also provides technical leadership and mentorship within the analytics function, ensuring best practices, consistency and continuous improvement across the data lifecycle.
The Data Analytics Lead sits at the intersection of data engineering, advanced analytics and strategic business partnership. Operating within the Data, Analytics and AI chapter, a function deliberately positioned as an enabler, this role is the connective tissue between what the business wants to know and how it gets there. The role translates ambiguous business questions into rigorous, repeatable analytical capability. The Data Analytics Lead owns the analytical layer end-to-end; governing data models, championing self-service, and building the frameworks and standards that allow every team in the organisation to make faster, better-informed decisions independently.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related field
- 8–10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or data-driven decision support roles
- Demonstrated experience building and enabling analytics capability in a mid-to-large organisation; not just delivering reports
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience leading analytics or BI teams
- Expert-level SQL; proficient in Python for analytical workflows
- Extensive experience with BI and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker
- Familiar with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and enterprise reporting environments
- Proficient understanding of AI/ML concepts and how they integrate with the analytics layer
- Experience defining and tracking business KPIs and performance measurement frameworks
- Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and translate business requirements into analytical solutions
- Experience implementing data governance, reporting standards, and analytics best practices
- Experience operating in a matrixed organisation and influencing without authority
- Proven ability as a systems thinker; ‘how can we make this repeatable’ before ‘what's the answer’
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to bring structure to poorly defined problems
- High standards for quality and a track record of embedding rigour without slowing pace
Advantageous
- Experience working in retail, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or FMCG environments
- SAP reporting and analytics experience (SAP BW, SAP HANA, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, or SAP ERP reporting)
- Exposure to advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-enabled business solutions
- Relevant professional certifications in BI, analytics, cloud, or data management
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?
- Develop and execute the analytics and BI roadmap aligned to business objectives
- Ensure reporting solutions provide accurate, relevant, repeatable and actionable insights
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise dashboards and reports
- Enable tracking the value of delivering insights against revenue growth, operational efficiency, and risk management
- Establish governance standards for reporting, metrics and analytics assets
- Prioritise and manage analytics initiatives and project delivery within the Data, Analytics and AI chapter
