The Software Engineer delivers end-to-end features and system components independently, applying engineering judgment and established best practices. This role ensures quality, reliability, and maintainability in delivery while contributing to process improvement.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

3–5 years of professional backend software development experience.
Strong grasp of core software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented and/or functional programming principles, data structures, algorithms, and common design patterns.
Demonstrated, hands-on experience with at least one backend language (e.g. Java, C#/.NET, Node.js, Python, Go, or similar) and a track record of picking up new languages or frameworks independently.
Solid understanding of RESTful API design; exposure to microservices or distributed system concepts.
Practical experience with relational databases (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience integrating with third-party APIs and external services.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively amid ambiguity or shifting requirements.
Good communication skills and comfort collaborating in cross-functional, agile teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power customer journey improvements across multiple concurrent projects.
Ramp up quickly on new languages, frameworks, or platforms as individual project requirements dictate.
Collaborate closely with front-end engineers, product owners, UX designers, architects, and QA to deliver end-to-end customer experience improvements.
Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and follow sound engineering practices regardless of the underlying stack.
Participate in technical design discussions and contribute practical input to architecture and technology decisions.
Integrate backend systems with third-party services (e.g. payment gateways, CRM, loyalty platforms, logistics or fulfilment systems).
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments.
Contribute to technical documentation and share knowledge to support a team that moves across stacks.
Work within agile delivery practices, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
