Job Description

With a strong pipeline of work across South East Queensland, we are looking for experienced Roads & Highways Engineers to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to work on major Queensland transport projects while collaborating with some of the industry's leading highways professionals.

What makes this opportunity unique is flexibility. While our highways team is based in South East Queensland, we are open to applications from anywhere across Australia or New Zealand. If you have strong experience delivering projects for Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), we'll connect you into our Queensland project portfolio while allowing you to remain based in your preferred AECOM office location.

You'll play a key role in the delivery of major transport infrastructure projects across South East Queensland, working closely with clients, project managers, designers and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, innovative and sustainable solutions.

How you'll make a difference

  • Deliver highways and road infrastructure designs in accordance with TMR standards and requirements
  • Contribute to the planning, design and delivery of major Queensland transport projects
  • Undertake geometric road design, corridor design, intersections and associated civil infrastructure
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Australia and New Zealand
  • Support projects through concept, detailed design and construction phases
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders
  • Mentor and support developing engineers within the team
  • Contribute to technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick every box, we'd still love to hear from you.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5–10 years' experience in roads and highways engineering
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects for Queensland TMR
  • Strong understanding of TMR standards, design criteria and project delivery requirements
  • Experience in detailed design within a consulting engineering environment
  • Proficiency with 12d, Civil 3D or similar design software
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across geographically dispersed teams
  • RPEQ or eligibility to obtain RPEQ will be highly regarded
