Technical Artist – Isometric Strategy Title (12-month contract)

Blackbird Interactive is looking for a passionate and experienced technical artist to join our team! Do you want to build stylish and compelling experiences? Do you love working with a team of talented designers, artists and programmers to create ambitious in-game content?
You will be part of a small, high performing team who are working on optimising and improving an existing and beloved game in an established franchise. The team will rely on your skillsets on their way to developing dazzling new Shader and General Asset improvements.
Working as the embedded TA on a Proprietary Engine
Performing Optimisation work and improving framerate stability
Coming up with quality solutions within technical constraints
Providing the animation, modeling, texturing and FX team with TA and implementation support
Performing with minimum supervision, working well in a small team, and taking ownership for problems whilst collaborating towards solutions
Acting as a bridge between Art, Engineering and the game engine
Authoring understandable documentation for tool and production pipelines
A basic understanding of the VFX production pipeline/tools/etc
Understanding of shader development
Understanding of asset management
Initiative for creative problem solving and unorthodox solutions
Familiarity with game asset building
C++ Experience
Experience with Profiling and Performance (with GPU vendor tools)
Understanding of particle systems and effects animation would be nice
Experience with or knowledgeable of working in proprietary engines
P4V and Github experience
Experience working in the Real Time Strategy genre
