Wellspring Care
Abby Care is building the leading AI-native platform for family-led care. America is facing a growing care crisis. Millions more people need care at home than ever. Over 50 million family caregivers support loved ones without the tools, training, or recognition they deserve.
We believe families are the largest untapped caregiving workforce in America, and that technology can help them deliver better care while driving stronger outcomes and greater transparency across the healthcare system.
Abby Care combines clinical oversight with an AI-powered platform to train, enable, and support family caregivers in delivering high-quality care at home. Our platform helps health plans and government partners better understand, verify, and improve care in the home. We expand access to care, reduce reliance on higher-cost settings, and help ensure public dollars are spent effectively.
We are proud to partner with leading health plans, providers, and community organizations and are backed by top VCs. We envision a future where family-led care is a core part of the healthcare system. Abby Care is building that future.
Join us in solving one of the most important challenges of our time.
Abby Care is building something new. The BDR is the first role of its kind at our company. A purpose built outbound function designed to open doors with Primary Care and Pediatric practices across our territories. Your mission is straightforward but high stakes: get our territory representatives in front of the right clinicians, at the right practices, through lunch and learns, coffee chats, and on-site educational meetings.
This is not a role for someone who needs a playbook handed to them. We don't have one yet and building it is part of the job. You'll be making outbound calls, handling objections we haven't documented yet, testing talk tracks and figuring out what works. Then you'll write it all down so the next person can do it faster. If that sounds like pressure, it is. If it sounds like an opportunity, you're the right person.
Own the Outbound Motion: Drive a high volume of outbound calls to PCP and Pediatric practices in our target territories, with the goal of booking on-site meetings, lunch and learns, coffee chats and educational visits for our territory representatives.
Book Quality Meetings: Focus relentlessly on conversion. A booked meeting is only valuable if the practice is a genuine fit and the representative can walk in prepared. You set the standard for what a good handoff looks like.
Build the Playbook From Scratch: Document everything. Talk tracks, objection responses, call cadences, outreach sequences and what separates a yes from a no. You are creating the institutional knowledge this function will run on.
Test and Iterate: Try different approaches, messaging styles, and outreach models. Track what moves the needle and kill what doesn't. Bring a hypothesis-driven mindset to every experiment.
Collaborate Closely With Territory Reps: Work hand-in-hand with the field team to understand their territories, their gaps, and the types of practices most likely to yield referrals. The best BDRs make their reps look great.
Track Religiously: Log every call, every outcome, and every insight in our CRM. Your data is the foundation for how we scale this function.
4+ years of outbound sales or business development experience, ideally in healthcare, medical devices, pharma, or a similarly relationship-driven, call-heavy environment.
Comfort operating in ambiguity. There is no established playbook, no proven talk track, and no safety net. You'll need to build confidence from experimentation, not from following instructions.
A process-builder's mindset. You don't just make calls but you think about why some calls work and others don't, and you write it down so it can be replicated.
Resilience and high activity tolerance. Outbound is a volume game with a long feedback loop. You'll hear no more than yes, and you'll keep going anyway.
Genuine curiosity about healthcare. You don't need a clinical background, but you need to care enough to learn the landscape how PCP and Pediatric practices operate, what their day looks like, and why Abby Care matters to the families they serve.
The stakes to match the moment. This is a foundational hire. What you build here shapes how Abby Care grows. We need someone who feels the weight of that and is energized by it, not intimidated.
