About the Team

Trading Desk Technology builds the trade monitoring platform that turns world-class quantitative research into trades executed around the globe. Our systems must be fast and dependable under load: streaming real-time data, resilient to volume spikes and consistently responsive. We sit across London, Guernsey and Connecticut, working closely with the desk and coordinating with Research and Engineering across the wider firm.

Role Overview

We building and maintaining a cutting-edge, multi-asset, real-time trading platform used by clients around the world. As the platform grows, we are evolving our command and control infrastructure and user experience to meet increasingly complex needs around management, monitoring, and diagnostics. In this role, you will be part of the Trading Desk Technology organization, contributing directly to that evolution — designing and building a cohesive, high-performance user experience that supports stakeholders across Research, Engineering, and the Front Office.

You will start by enhancing our existing C# / TypeScript stack and developing a deep understanding of the business and technical landscape. Over time, you will define and own the long-term UX and platform vision, gain stakeholder alignment, and lead its implementation and delivery. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who is technically strong, user-focused, and highly collaborative — someone who enjoys solving complex problems and building systems that work beautifully for their users.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and enhance server-side applications using .NET and C# with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Take ownership of the command and control infrastructure that underpins the entire trading pipeline
  • Define, communicate, and deliver on the strategic vision for the platform’s UX
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and engineering teams in London and Connecticut to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Apply and uphold enterprise-grade software engineering best practices across development, testing, and deployment

What makes a great candidate?

  • An enthusiastic, proactive, and solution-oriented engineer
  • An experienced full-stack developer with both front-end (TypeScript, React, etc.) and back-end (C#, Python, Java, etc.) skills
  • Skilled at debugging, optimizing, and maintaining complex systems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to engage both technical and non- technical stakeholders
  • Strong interest in the financial domain and a willingness to learn
  • Thrives in cross-functional, team-oriented environments
  • UX design sensibility, with hands-on experience in creating intuitive, user-focused interfaces (requirements capture, wireframing, event modelling)
  • (Bonus) Experience working with geographically distributed teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in at least one typed language, such as C#, Java, Kotlin, C++ or Rust
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and a web development framework (e.g. Angular, React)
