This person is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and accurate management of warehouse operations, including inventory control, stock movement, logistics coordination, and continuous process improvement.
This role plays a key part in maintaining stock accuracy, optimizing storage utilization, and ensuring timely delivery of finished goods in line with company and customer requirements.
1. Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control
- Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods.
- Ensure accurate stock levels through regular cycle counts and joint stock count exercises, reconciling any discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor stock movement, product shelf life, and expiry to minimize losses and ensure effective inventory turnover.
- Enforce the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) process for all stock handling and ensure compliance across all teams.
- Maintain accountability for stock count accuracy and reporting.
2. Documentation & Verification
- Generate and review delivery order forms, ensuring accuracy before dispatch.
- Verify and process transporter invoices in accordance with delivery records and agreed terms.
- Ensure all documentation related to inbound and outbound goods is properly recorded and filed for audit compliance.
3. Logistics Coordination
- Collaborate with internal departments and transporters to plan and execute delivery schedules efficiently.
- Support inter-plant coordination for finished goods storage and movement, ensuring smooth transfer between sites.
- Follow up on customer feedback and complaints related to delivery issues, providing timely resolutions.
4. Process & Storage Optimization
- Participate in strategic planning for warehouse layout, racking systems, and storage optimization to improve space utilization and material flow.
- Support strategic monitoring of interplant finished goods storage to ensure optimal distribution and minimal congestion.
- Plan and implement 5S activities to maintain workplace organization, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Maintain accountability for safety practices within the warehouse, promoting a culture of safe working habits and incident prevention.
- Report and address any safety hazards or near misses promptly.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiency within warehouse and logistics operations.
- Contribute to operational planning and provide insights for warehouse performance reporting.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of 5S, FIFO, and safety management practices.
