Job Description
PURPOSE
To supervise the day-to-day operations of the Whiskey Creek lodges and support the delivery of a high-quality guest experience. The role is responsible for coordinating hospitality and housekeeping activities, monitoring service standards, and assisting the Lodge Manager in ensuring smooth lodge operations in accordance with established policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Safety: Consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Performance and Delivery
Lodge Operations Management
- Supervise daily lodge operations including housekeeping, laundry, front-of-house, and guest service activities.
- Allocate and monitor daily work assignments for hospitality and laundry staff.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and service standards are maintained.
- Report maintenance issues and operational concerns to the Lodge Manager.
- Ensure compliance with established health, safety, hygiene, and environmental procedures.
- Monitor adherence to lodge standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Culinary Supervision & Food Service
- Supervise daily kitchen operations in line with approved menus and lodge standards.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Implement seasonal menu plans, providing input and recommendations to the Lodge Manager where needed.
- Assist with the selection and sourcing of ingredients in line with approved suppliers and guidelines.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion control meet established standards.
- Supervise kitchen output to ensure consistency and efficiency during service.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in compliance with regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages, quality issues, or variances to the Lodge Manager.
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Welcome and assist guests during their stay.
- Respond to routine guest queries and requests in a professional manner.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and escalate complaints or significant concerns to the Lodge Manager.
- Assist in coordinating guest activities and special events.
- Ensure lodge facilities, furniture, and décor are maintained to acceptable standards and report requirements for repair or replacement.
Team Supervision & Development
- Supervise staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and coaching to team members.
- Assist with the induction and training of new employees.
- Monitor employee attendance and performance and provide feedback to the Lodge Manager.
- Promote teamwork and adherence to service standards.
Administrative Support
- Assist with stock monitoring and inventory counts.
- Maintain basic operational records and documentation.
- Monitor usage of supplies and report replenishment requirements.
- Support the Lodge Manager with operational administration and reporting requirements.
- Ensure accurate completion of routine operational checklists.
Guest Engagement Support
- Encourage guests to provide feedback on their lodge experience.
- Support lodge promotional activities as directed by the Lodge Manager.
- Maintain professional relationships with guests and visitors.
- Contribute ideas to enhance guest satisfaction and service delivery

Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements.
Qualifications
Prescribed
- Grade 12
Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate
Desirable
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field
Certification
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in hospitality, lodge operations, guest services, or a related environment.
- Understanding of menu planning and food costing principles will be advantageous
- Previous supervisory experience will be advantageous.
- Experience in a lodge, hotel, guest house, or hospitality environment preferred
