Job Description
Your future team
Following the government’s announcements regarding the construction of new EPRs and the emergence of alternative solutions with smaller capacities (SMRs, AMRs), the nuclear sector is entering a new era of growth accompanied by new technological challenges.
You will be joining our teams responsible for Control and Command projects for ‘game-changing’ new players in the nuclear sector who are developing ‘disruptive’ technologies centred on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs). As with high-power reactors, the fuel cycle is a key element in the future operation of these innovative solutions. The manufacture of often specialised fuels requires dedicated industrial facilities, in which I&C plays an essential role not only in plant operation but also in process safety and nuclear safety.
The post, based in Avignon, with the possibility of spending most of the time in Aix-en-Provence, involves the role of I&C Architect, which is essential for guiding the design choices of future systems, taking into account regulatory and standard requirements, production, safety and security considerations, as well as operational and maintenance constraints. Lessons learnt from previous decades are also part of the picture.
Your responsibilities
As a Nuclear I&C Architect within the fuel cycle (conventional systems, functional safety systems and classified safety systems), based on the principles defined during the project’s preliminary design phase, you will lead and carry out the engineering studies for the I&C systems of the RNR MOX plant. Your main responsibilities will include:
-Defining the control and instrumentation requirements arising from studies of process systems, utilities (fluids, ventilation, electricity) and nuclear safety (FOH, radiation protection, criticality)
-Defining and managing the functional requirements of the systems,
-Participating in the development of technical deliverables for the Process/Safety/Security architectures,
-Co-designing control and command systems whilst taking into account applicable safety requirements and interfaces with Level 2 (HMI) and Level 3 (MES) systems, which are closely integrated with control and command in such facilities (production management / material accounting / criticality management),
-Define programming standards for Levels 1 and 2 of the systems,
-Prepare for and participate in design reviews
