OfficeDetroit, Michigan, United States

We are hiring a BIM Coordinator to support healthcare, institutional, and large-scale commercial electrical construction projects within a self-performing electrical contractor environment.

We are specifically looking for someone who understands how electrical systems are modeled, coordinated, and installed in the field. This person must be proficient in Revit and Navisworks and capable of producing accurate, field-ready coordination and installation drawings—not just maintaining architectural models.

The BIM Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers, field leadership, engineers, and other trades to identify conflicts before installation, improve constructability, and provide the field with reliable model-based information. The work performed in this role directly affects labor productivity, prefabrication, installation accuracy, and project schedule performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain coordinated electrical BIM models using Revit and Navisworks
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination and clash-detection meetings, then resolve electrical conflicts with other trades
  • Produce shop drawings, installation drawings, layout information, and model-based documentation for field use
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and design revisions to ensure model accuracy and constructability
  • Support prefabrication and field installation by providing timely model updates and responding to coordination issues
  • Maintain project BIM standards, file organization, drawing records, and coordination milestones

Requirements

  • 2+ years of BIM coordination experience in commercial electrical construction
  • Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Navisworks required
  • Direct experience coordinating electrical systems and participating in clash-detection meetings
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings, specifications, and design documents
  • Understanding of electrical installation methods, construction sequencing, and field workflows
  • Experience working with a self-performing electrical contractor strongly preferred

Benefits

Competitive salary based on experience, plus health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and additional company-sponsored benefits.

This position is best suited for an electrical BIM professional who can turn design information into accurate, coordinated, and constructible drawings that help field teams install work correctly the first time.
