We are hiring an experienced Outside Sales Representative to develop new business and sell residential and small commercial contractor services.

This is a self-generated sales position for a proven closer who is comfortable prospecting, meeting customers at their homes or project sites, and managing opportunities from initial outreach through signed contract. This is not an order-taking role, and success will not depend solely on company-provided leads.

The ideal candidate has experience selling high-value services such as solar, roofing, HVAC, home improvement, construction, or related solutions. You should be confident building trust with property owners, presenting project recommendations, overcoming objections, and asking for the sale.

Responsibilities

  • Generate residential and small commercial opportunities through door-to-door prospecting, cold outreach, referrals, networking, and community relationships
  • Schedule and conduct in-home and onsite customer consultations
  • Assess customer needs, project goals, budget considerations, and property conditions
  • Recommend appropriate services and clearly communicate project value
  • Present proposals, pricing, financing options, timelines, and contract terms
  • Follow up consistently with prospects and move qualified opportunities through the sales pipeline
  • Negotiate and close high-value contractor service agreements
  • Manage the complete sales process from first contact through signed contract
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, appointments, proposals, follow-ups, and closed business in the CRM
  • Coordinate with estimating, operations, and project management teams to ensure an accurate project handoff
  • Develop repeat and referral business through responsive communication and strong customer service
  • Maintain accountability for personal prospecting activity, pipeline value, closing results, and revenue production

Requirements

  • 3+ years of high-ticket sales experience in home improvement, solar, roofing, HVAC, construction, contractor services, or a similar industry
  • Proven success generating leads and building a sales pipeline through personal prospecting
  • Direct experience presenting and selling to homeowners or small commercial customers
  • Demonstrated ability to independently close projects and secure signed agreements
  • Comfortable with door-to-door prospecting, cold calling, networking, and referral generation
  • Ability to conduct professional in-home and onsite sales presentations
  • Strong communication, negotiation, follow-up, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working toward measurable sales and revenue goals
  • Ability to manage multiple active prospects and opportunities without heavy oversight

This is a direct sales and closing position. Candidates whose experience is limited to sales support, estimating, customer coordination, or appointment setting may not be a fit.
