Project Manager / Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Superintendent / Project Manager to lead complex residential construction projects throughout the Boston area.

This is a senior, field-focused leadership position for a construction professional who can independently manage projects from mobilization through final closeout. The successful candidate will take ownership of daily field operations, subcontractor performance, project schedules, inspections, quality, safety, documentation, and communication across multiple active jobsites.

Our projects include ground-up multifamily construction, urban residential developments, historic brownstone renovations, and full-gut residential remodels. The ideal candidate understands the realities of building in Boston, including older structures, limited site access, occupied neighborhoods, structural discoveries, permitting challenges, and high-end finish requirements.

This is not an Assistant Superintendent position. We need a proven field leader who can make decisions, anticipate problems, hold teams accountable, and bring projects across the finish line without constant direction.

Requirements

• Lead daily construction operations across two to three active Boston-area projects
• Manage projects from site mobilization and startup through punch list, turnover, and final closeout
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, inspectors, consultants, and internal project teams
• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, look-ahead plans, and sequencing strategies
• Monitor jobsite progress and ensure work remains aligned with schedule, budget, quality, and safety expectations
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and construction documents before and during execution
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change-related documentation, daily reports, field records, and closeout requirements
• Conduct subcontractor meetings, jobsite walks, quality inspections, and progress reviews
• Coordinate municipal inspections, utility requirements, deliveries, access, and site logistics
• Identify structural, scheduling, coordination, and constructability issues before they delay the project
• Proactively resolve field problems involving existing conditions, design conflicts, material availability, or subcontractor performance
• Maintain high standards for craftsmanship, architectural details, and high-end finishes
• Enforce jobsite safety procedures and maintain clean, organized, professional projects
• Communicate regularly with ownership, clients, subcontractors, architects, and project stakeholders
• Manage punch-list completion and ensure accurate, timely project turnover

Preferred Qualifications

• 15–20+ years of overall construction experience
• 10+ years of Boston-area construction experience
• Extensive knowledge of Boston permitting, inspections, site logistics, subcontractor markets, and urban building conditions
• Experience restoring historic brownstones or other older residential structures
• Background managing high-end residential finishes and detail-driven projects
• Experience with Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar construction management platforms
• OSHA certification or comparable construction safety training
