We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee healthcare and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout in a general contractor environment. This role carries direct responsibility for project execution, financial performance, client communication, subcontractor management, and schedule delivery across multiple active projects. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client with a growing backlog of healthcare and commercial work throughout the Southeast. The ideal candidate has experience managing healthcare projects, working within occupied facilities, and maintaining project performance in fast-paced construction environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee healthcare and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement activities, and contract administration.
  • Lead project planning efforts and maintain accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors throughout project execution.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project financial performance, forecast costs, and identify potential risks before they impact execution.
  • Facilitate owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, and project status updates.
  • Support projects involving occupied healthcare facilities, medical renovations, and specialized healthcare environments.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to maintain visibility, resolve issues, and support successful delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule and budget objectives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial construction.
  • Healthcare construction experience is required.
  • Experience managing projects within occupied healthcare facilities is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICRA protocols, healthcare renovation requirements, and infection control practices is highly desirable.
  • Experience overseeing commercial, institutional, healthcare, or medical facility projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
  • Strong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, subcontract administration, and change management.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites approximately twice per month, including overnight travel when required.
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Residential-only construction experience will not be sufficient for this position.
