At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Senior Power BI Consultant to join our UniQue team.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Provide expert configuration, tuning, and performance optimization of Power BI Server to ensure reliability and high performance.
- Assess existing deployments, identify bottlenecks, and implement Microsoft best practices.
- Deliver Level 2/3 support, including monitoring backups, logs, and system performance.
- Support Level 1 support activities and ensure timely resolution of Service Desk tickets within SLA targets.
- Manage incident, problem, and change processes, including impact assessments, coordination, patching, and upgrades.
- Perform planned Power BI on-premises patching and upgrades in line with security standards and release cycles (2–4 times per year).
- Design and deliver four Power BI dashboards, including three from existing HR data sources and one migrated from an existing reporting platform.
- Ensure robust data modeling, user-friendly design, and interactive reporting (filters, slicing, historical analysis).
- Contribute to BI architecture, data modeling standards, coding guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Deliver documentation, knowledge transfer, and end-user training, including workshops, mentoring, and handover validation.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this position?
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience as a consultant on large-scale business application implementations, evidenced by project scope, role, and technologies used.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with MS SQL Server (2014 or higher), including complex SQL development and ETL processes.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Power BI Report Server (on-premises) and Power BI Service (cloud), including administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Power BI development, including data modelling, DAX, and dashboard/report delivery.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in data modelling (normalized/denormalized structures, star and snowflake schemas).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ITIL-based service management, including incident, problem, change, and request management (Level 2/3 support).
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in Agile environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, produce technical documentation, and demonstrate full professional proficiency in English (C1 or equivalent).
It would be a plus if you have:
- Configure PBI Server to work with claims based ADFS authentication
- Knowledge of Oracle Databases
- Knowledge of KNIME Analytics Platform.
- Experience in developing in Java.
- Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
