At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Solution Architect to join our UniQue team.

What will you be bringing to the team?

  • Lead and shape the end-to-end solution and application architecture of large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems, aligned with business goals, regulatory obligations, security guidelines, and programme constraints.
  • Produce and maintain architecture deliverables - Architecture Overviews, High-Level Design / Low-Level Designs, integration specifications, and Architecture Decision Records.
  • Provide technical leadership to the architecture and development streams: guide design decisions, run technical workshops, review and sign off technical estimations, and mentor engineers.
  • Communicate architecture vision and trade-offs to programme stakeholders and customer architecture boards, translating technical complexity into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Engineer non-functional requirements with verifiable acceptance criteria.
  • Design integration and interoperability solutions using API-first / contract-first principles and event-driven patterns.
  • Design secure-by-design solutions, applying recognised application-security standards (e.g., OWASP ASVS, ISO/IEC 27001).
  • Define SDLC standards and quality gates, in collaboration with the DevOps team.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years in the IT field, with an extensive proven track record as a Solution Architect on complex, large-scale programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver production systems using Java / JEE and/or .NET / C#, with microservices, REST, and containers, across the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience in designing cloud-native and microservice architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with UML / ArchiMate using Sparx Enterprise Architect or a similar architecture-modelling tool.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies: REST, gRPC, SOAP, and web services, as well as message-oriented middleware, ESB, and distributed event streaming (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Expertise in Spring / Quarkus / Java EE and Hibernate/JPA, or equivalent .NET expertise; exposure to a modern front-end framework (Angular or React).
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL), NoSQL data stores, and search/indexing engines (e.g., Elasticsearch).
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills; able to build consensus and drive architectural alignment in complex environments.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Production-scale container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Experience with IAM solutions and security token services (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, Keycloak).
  • Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK, Splunk) and multi-site disaster-recovery design.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps toolchains, and performance monitoring.
  • Awareness of AI/ML integration patterns.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, SAFe, ArchiMate, or major-vendor cloud certifications (Azure / AWS / GCP).
