As a BrightBee Substitute, you'll work with school partners in San Jose who are seeking versatile and dependable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. In this role, you will step into diverse classroom environments to provide seamless instructional continuity when the regular teacher is absent. The more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is.

• Full school day shifts (around 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare the classroom space and materials in accordance with provided lesson plans
• Lead student instruction and maintain behavioral expercations
• Manage daily classroom tasks, including taking attendance, monitoring hall passes, and supervising lunch or recess periods as required
• Document student progress and classroom happenings through detailed end-of-day reports to ensure the permanent teacher is fully informed upon their return.
• Support students with learning and classroom activities
• Help manage behavior using positive reinforcement
• Assist during lunch, recess, and school activities
• Work closely with teachers and school staff

✅ Basic Requirements

• Bachelors Degree
• California Substitute teaching permit or California Teacher Certification 
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
• Important Note about Certification: A valid California Substitute Permit is not required at the time of application; however, active progress toward certification is expected during the interview process. Full certification is a prerequisite for employment and must be obtained by June 30, 2026.
