The Director of Conference manages the in-person conference experience: programming, run-of-show, venue logistics, and attendee flow. This role ensures SCMC’s conference feels like a professional capital markets event, not a student meetup, while making the weekend seamless for competitors, judges, sponsors, and attendees.

Build the conference operating plan: schedule, run-of-show, staffing plan, and contingency playbooks

Manage logistics: rooms, A/V, catering, signage, check-in, transportation, and speaker readiness

Coordinate competitor + judge experience on-site (briefings, timing, transitions, green rooms)

Lead volunteer coordination for conference weekend execution

Partner with Marketing on attendee communications and with External on speaker/sponsor needs

Own post-event debrief and process improvement

Strong project management and calm under pressure

Excellent attention to detail (timelines, logistics, dependencies)

Clear communicator who can coordinate across multiple teams

Experience running events/conferences is an asset

Comfortable making fast decisions during live execution

Event leadership experience at a professional standard

Strong operational planning, delegation, and crisis management
