The Director of Competition directs the end-to-end competitor experience, from rules through judging and finals execution. This portfolio is responsible for delivering SCMC’s challenge and ensuring a rigorous, professional competition that reflects real-world capital markets decision-making. SCMC is a student-run, CUS-funded finance case competition built around corporate deal strategy and execution. 

 
### Time Commitment
10 hours/week (more during peak deadlines and competition weeks) 
### Term of Employment
June 2026 – March 2027 
### Main Responsibilities
  • Manage registration workflows and competitor operations (team verification, submissions, Q&A, integrity checks) 

  • Coordinate judging logistics: judge recruiting support, scheduling, calibration, scoring consolidation, and feedback 

  • Build and run finals weekend logistics in partnership with Conference and External teams 

  • Benchmark against top finance competitions to keep SCMC credible and competitive 

### Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of capital markets / IB concepts (valuation, transaction rationale, strategy) 

  • Detail-oriented operator who can run structured processes under pressure 

  • Excellent written communication (rules, competitor memos, judge instructions) 

  • Comfortable leading a team and enforcing timelines and quality control 

  • Experience with case competitions, finance recruiting, or case writing is an asset 

### Anticipated Learning Outcomes
  • Direct experience leading a national/global finance case competition operation 

  • Stronger technical + strategic thinking through case design and evaluation 

  • Stakeholder management with judges, sponsors, and competitors 

  • High-trust leadership and execution under deadlines
