The Vice President Events is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing SISA events and initiatives throughout the year. They will lead event operations, oversee Event Associates, and ensure events are engaging, organized, and aligned with SISA’s goals and community presence. The VP Events will also play a key role in hosting and emceeing events to create an engaging and welcoming environment for attendees.
### Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of SISA events and initiatives
  • Oversee VP Events Associates and delegate tasks to support event operations
  • Coordinate with executives and departments to ensure smooth communication
  • Develop event timelines, rundowns, and logistics plans for successful event execution
  • Source event venues, equipment, and other operational requirements as needed
  • Emcee, host, and facilitate SISA events in a professional and engaging manner
  • Lead event setup, execution, and cleanup processes
  • Review event feedback and implement improvements for future initiatives
  • Be timely with deadlines and respond to all Slack messages within 24 hours
  • Mandatory attendance at all executive meetings and SISA events
  • Participate in boothing events for minimum 4 slots (30 minutes each)
  • Adhere to the three strike system in case of no show at meetings and/or SISA events without a valid reason
  • ### Qualifications
  • Strong leadership, event planning, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and public speaking abilities
  • Confidence in hosting, emceeing, and engaging with large groups
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience in event planning, leadership, or hosting is an asset
  • Comfortable working with diverse teams and communities
  • Co-op and exchange candidates must have sufficient availability to fulfill responsibilities consistently
