Central to this position is the pivotal responsibility for the meticulous oversight and safeguarding of the Commerce Undergraduate Society's digital footprint, encompassing critical tasks such as website maintenance, email configuration, and system enhancements. Responsible for the overall integrity of the Commerce Undergraduate Society’s websites, emails, and IT architecture utilizing Next.js, Firebase, Vercel, Rebel DNS, and Google Admin. The role also offers flexibility in the management of the IT Commission and its various projects.

  • Approximately 8 hours a week, up to 15 during any outage impacting services.
  • May 2026 – March 2027
  • ### Main Responsibilities
  • Responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and enabling email forwarders for CUS and CUS affiliates.
  • Responsible for hiring and managing the IT Commission, including developers.
  • Responsible for implementing automated solutions to streamline administrative tasks, optimize Slack management, and improve system monitoring.
  • All website-related issues for CUS and CUS affiliate sites.
  • Responsible for the general upkeep and updating of the CUS website, including content updates, functionality enhancements, and ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

  • Passion for IT, automation, and system optimization
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Experience with team management and leadership
  • Task-oriented, reliable and a strong self-starter
  • Some knowledge of web development technology (Next.js, Firebase) and automation technology (Python) is beneficial (although not a requirement)
  • Being a student in the Business and Computer Science (BUCS) program would be beneficial (although not a requirement)
