The Internal Director is responsible for fostering a positive and collaborative environment within the CUS Equity & Inclusion Commission by strengthening team culture, organizing internal initiatives, and supporting member engagement. The Internal Director plays an important role in ensuring commission members feel connected, supported, and valued throughout the year.
### Time Commitment
4–6 hours per week
### Term of Employment
June 2026 - April 2027 
### Main Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize team bonding activities, socials, and appreciation initiatives.

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment within the commission.

  • Support communication and collaboration among commission members.

  • Assist with the coordination of internal meetings and team check-ins.

  • Work closely with the Equity Advisors and other directors on commission initiatives.

  • Provide assistance at BizWeek and all E&I events.

  • Attend weekly team meetings.

  • ### Qualifications
  • UBC Sauder Undergraduate student.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Passionate about building inclusive communities and supporting team wellbeing.

  • Organized, reliable, and able to coordinate events and initiatives effectively.

  • Committed to fostering inclusivity and belonging within the Sauder community.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

  • A strong desire to learn from diverse perspectives.

  • ### Anticipated Learning Outcomes

    The Internal Director will have the opportunity to develop leadership, event planning, communication, and community-building skills through coordinating internal initiatives and fostering meaningful connections among commission members. As a member of the Equity & Inclusion Commission, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse groups of students, professionals, and stakeholders within the Sauder and UBC communities. In addition, you will have the opportunity to use and strengthen skills in (but not limited to) the following areas:

  • Team Building and Community Engagement

  • Event Planning and Coordination

  • Leadership and Collaboration

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Understanding of Social Justice and EDI Principles
