The Events Directors are responsible for facilitating the successful launch and running of various initiatives being held by the CUS Equity & Inclusion Commission. Flexibility will also be given to Events Directors to take on additional tasks or roles that they are interested in pursuing. 
### Time Commitment
3-8 hours per week
### Term of Employment
June 2026 - April 2027
### Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with the organizing and logistics of running CUS Equity & Inclusion’s events. 

  • Communicating with parties within and outside of the CUS. 

  • Contribute ideas and passions to sing a more inclusive student culture. 

  • Reporting to and working with the Equity Advisors on all assigned work. 

  • Provide assistance at BizWeek and all E&I events. 

  • Attend weekly team meetings.

  • ### Qualifications
  • UBC Sauder Undergraduate student. 

  • Strong time management and organization skills.

  • Proficient communication skills. 

  • Events management experience is an asset. 

  • Committed to advocating for inclusivity and belonging at UBC Sauder. 

  • A strong desire to learn from diverse perspectives.

  • Functional time management and organization skills. 

  • Able to work independently (with guidance).

  • ### Anticipated Learning Outcomes

    The Events Directors will be able to develop their communication and organizational skills throughout their term. As members of the equity commission, you will also be able to meet and develop connections with professionals working in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. You will also be given the chance to communicate with a diverse group of individuals. In addition, you will have the opportunity to use and develop skills in (but not limited to) the following areas: 

  • Event Organizing and Logistics 

  • Community Building and Student Advocacy 

  • Independent and Collaborative Work 

  • Understanding of Social Justice and EDI Principles
