Corporate Relations (CR) Commission Members are the driving force behind the CUS’s external network, execution of sponsorship initiatives, and corporate partner management. Operating within the external portfolio, Commission Members focus on building professional connections, managing existing and new partnerships, and executing key portfolio projects like the CUSavings program and Bizweek outreach. 

### Time Commitment & Term of Employment
  • 2-5 hours per week (Up to 7 hours during peak times, heavier summer commitment)

  • June 2026 – March 2027

  • ### Main Responsibilities
  • Actively seek and renew partnerships with local businesses, coordinate the onboarding of new vendors, and assist with the promotion of the CUSaving program to the student body. 

  • Support Bizweek prep by conducting corporate outreach, coordinating sponsor logistics, and securing partnerships for welcome packages and raffles ahead of the flagship September welcome week.

  • Expand the CUS network through connecting with new business professionals and companies to secure financial and in-kind corporate sponsorships.

  • Consistently update the CUS sponsorship database to ensure complete transparency, data integrity, and resource-sharing across the society.

  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with AVPs regarding project tracking, outreach metrics, and partnership updates. 

  • Support the VP External and AVPs with existing and new pilot initiatives designed to elevate the CUS's presence in the broader UBC and professional communities.

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective networking and relationship management skills

  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take the initiative for problem-solving

  • Ability to work flexibly within a team and independently

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Previous sponsorship experiences are an asset

  • Desire to be innovative and think creatively
