Vice President, Events & External

The VP Events & External leads event planning and external outreach by managing event execution, building partnerships, and supporting program mentors and participants.
### Time Commitment
  • 2-4 hours/week from May 2026 - September 2026

  • 4-8 hours/week from Jan 2027 - April 2027

  • ### Term of Employment

    May 2026 - March 2027

    ### Main Responsibilities
  • Develop event preparation plans and ensure all events/sessions are delivered at a high level

  • Generate new event ideas with implementation plans that help grow the program

  • Maintain connections with previous delegates and invite new suitable delegates to events/sessions through various communication methods (i.e. LinkedIn, Sauder Alumni Office)

  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and establish new collaborations with other clubs and services

  • Serve as the main point of contact for program mentors and participants

  • ### Qualifications
  • Previous event planning, sponsorship, external outreach, and relationship management experience is an asset

  • Effective communication skills and ability to cope with rejections through outreach

  • Strong sense of responsibility, exceptional attention to detail and organization skills

  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to direct others effectively

  • Commitment to Casing Junior Development and its success

  • ### Anticipated Learning Outcomes

    The VP Events & External should be able to develop their communication skills throughout their term. The incumbents will also be able to meet and develop connections with business professionals. In addition, incumbents will have opportunities to use and develop skills in (but not limited to) the following areas:

  • Strong development of event coordination and planning skills

  • Ability to excel in a high-pressure environment

  • Creation, facilitation and implementation of a collaborative vision

  • Develop valuable connections with stakeholders, including industry professionals
