The Advisor provides strategic guidance to the executive team and strengthens ties between Junior Development and other Sauder casing services through mentorship, partnership support, and organizational advising.
2-4 hours/week from May 2026 - September 2026
4-8 hours/week from Jan 2027 - April 2027

Facilitate communications with other Sauder casing services, acquiring session speakers, mentors, and judges
Lead maintenance and further development of the Junior Development to case competing pipeline
Advise and mentor the executive team on leadership development, strategic planning, operational execution, and problem-solving
Provide strategic feedback on program logistics, marketing initiatives, training materials, and case competition preparation
Assist with troubleshooting challenges that arise during program planning, events, and post-event reflection processes
Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong sense of responsibility, exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
Exceptional time management skills and ability to direct others effectively
Ability to mentor and motivate a team throughout the year
Experience with Casing Junior Development or other casing services is an asset
The Advisor should be able to develop their communication skills throughout their term. The incumbents will also be able to meet and develop connections with business professionals. In addition, incumbents will have opportunities to use and develop skills in (but not limited to) the following areas:
Enhanced leadership coaching and mentorship abilities through real-world application
Strengthened skills in strategic advising, cross-functional team support, and organizational analysis
Deeper understanding of event planning cycles, training program development, and community engagement strategies
Opportunity to build a stronger network within UBC Sauder and professional communities
