VP Mentorship

The VP Mentorship are responsible for leading and enhancing the COSAS Mentorship Program by fostering meaningful connections and supporting the professional development of mentors and mentees throughout the term. They play a key role in creating an engaging and supportive co-op community through mentorship initiatives, career development programming, and ongoing student support.
### Time Commitment
Regular: 2-5 hours/week | Peak periods: 10 hours/week leading up to events
### Term of Employment
May 2026 - April 2027
### Main Responsibilities
● Lead and improve the COSAS Mentorship Program through mentor and mentee engagement initiatives, regular check-ins, and ongoing program support.
● Design and deliver mentorship resources, workshops, and professional development materials to support student growth and co-op readiness.
● Coordinate networking initiatives during peak co-op intake periods, such as co-op application clinics and office hours.
● Foster community engagement by encouraging meaningful mentor-mentee connections and professional relationship-building.
● Communicate important updates, resources, and opportunities from COSAS and the Events team to mentors, mentees, and the Business Career Centre.
● Proactively brainstorm and implement new initiatives to enhance the mentorship experience and strengthen the COSAS community.
### Qualifications
● Strong sense of initiative and ability to take ownership of tasks
● Experience facilitating community building, engagement, and discussions
● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
● Event planning experience and ability to organize and execute events
● Past participation in CSMP, mentorship programs, or experience as a mentor is strongly considered an asset
### Anticipated Learning Outcomes
VP Mentorships will develop communication skills and build connections with co-op students. In addition, they will have opportunities to use and grow skills in (but not limited to) the following areas:
● Event planning and execution
● Leadership
