The VP External focuses on managing external relationships by communicating updates, engaging with partners and sponsors, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration. It also supports the Events team in planning and executing initiatives for the UBC Sauder Co-op community.

Regular: 1-2 hours/week | Peak periods: 4 hours/week leading up to events

### Main Responsibilities

● Communicate updates from the COSAS team and manage relationships with external stakeholders such as event sponsors, panelists, delegates, and the Business Career Centre.

● Identify areas of opportunity for new initiatives and help find the right people to help implement them.

● Collaborate with Events team members in running and executing events for the UBC Sauder Co-op community.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Experience with event planning and ideation

● Ability to manage time effectively and get deliverables ready on time

● Creative with ideas to improve the UBC Sauder Co-op student experience

● Passion for helping others and meeting new people

### Anticipated Learning Outcomes

The VP External will be able to develop their communication skills throughout their term. The incumbent will also be able to meet and develop connections with business professionals. In addition, you will have opportunities to use and develop transferable skills in (but not limited to) the following areas:

● Leadership and communication skills

● Build meaningful connections within the COSAS community and broader CUS network
