At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Kubernetes Engineer to join our UniQue team.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Design, build, and evolve highly scalable, secure, and resilient Kubernetes platforms utilizing SUSE Rancher as the central management plane.
  • Develop robust automation scripts in Python or Bash.
  • Handle the end-to-end lifecycle of RKE/RKE2 clusters (provisioning, scaling, patching and upgrading) across hybrid, multi-cloud or bare-metal environments with minimal to zero downtime.
  • Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and implement GitOps workflows (using tools like Gitlab, ArgoCD or Rancher Fleet) to streamline continuous application delivery.
  • Monitor platform health using tools like Prometheus and Grafana, respond to system alerts and troubleshoot complex containerized workload issues.
  • Enforce security policy's, including network policies, Rancher RBAC configurations and automated container image scanning.
  • Proactively monitor resource utilization (CPU, memory, persistent storage) to right-size clusters, scale nodes dynamically and optimize cloud or on-prem infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks and architecture diagrams.

Requirements

What will you be bringing to the team?

  • Hold at least a High School certificate
  • 4+ years in DevOps / Platform Engineering.
  • 4+ years designing, deploying, and operating highly available production Kubernetes clusters with deep expertise in SUSE Rancher / Rancher Manager
  • Proven success leading migrations from legacy virtualized systems to containerized microservices architectures
  • Strong experience with Ansible, plus scripting in Python and Bash
  • Expert in zero-downtime deployment pipelines using GitLab, ArgoCD, and/or Rancher Fleet
  • Advanced Helm chart development for complex stateful/stateless workloads
  • Hands-on with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, SLIs/SLOs, automated remediation; Rancher Observability is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of RKE, RKE2, K3s, K8s and appropriate use cases.
  • Expertise in Zero Trust, Rancher RBAC, Pod Security Admission, container scanning, and governance enforcement
  • Advanced understanding of CNI technologies (Calico, Cilium, Canal), SDN, network policies, Ingress, and Istio Service Mesh
  • Expert with CSI, disaster recovery, and highly available storage platforms such as SUSE Longhorn
  • Extensive experience across bare metal, vSphere, Nutanix, AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Strong troubleshooting across full stack, from kernel/container runtime to networking
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers, acting as escalation point, and driving DevOps best practices
  • Active NATO SECRET clearance or higher
  • English proficiency at B2 level or above
