The Vice Chair supports the Co-Chairs in overseeing the operations and strategic direction of the Commerce Advocate Program. They play a key role in ensuring smooth internal coordination, supporting executive team members, and helping execute CAP initiatives effectively.

### Time Commitment

May-Aug: 20 hours total

Sept-Feb: 4-5 hours/week

Feb-Apr: 3-4 hours/week

### Main Responsibilities

● Support the Co-Chairs in executing CAP’s strategic goals and initiatives

● Assist in overseeing executive team members and providing guidance when needed

● Help coordinate and facilitate executive meetings

● Ensure effective communication across all team members and portfolios

● Assist in planning and executing events, workshops, and initiatives

● Step in for Co-Chairs when necessary and support decision-making processes

● Monitor progress of ongoing projects and ensure deadlines are met

● Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and team development efforts

● Help maintain a positive and collaborative team culture

### Qualifications

● Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

● Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

● Organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills

● Proactive and reliable, with the ability to take initiative

● Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability

● Ability to support leadership while also working independently

● Previous experience in CAP or student organizations is an asset

● Interest in student engagement and community-building

### Anticipated Learning Outcomes

The Vice Chair will develop strong leadership and coordination skills throughout their term. This role provides opportunities to gain experience in supporting a large team and contributing to the success of a student-led initiative. The Vice Chair will develop skills in (but not limited to):

● Leadership and teamwork

● Communication and coordination

● Event planning and execution

● Problem-solving and adaptability

● Organization and time management
