Finance Director

Finance Directors are responsible for managing CAP’s budget and collaborating closely with the CAP Chair to achieve the organization’s financial goals.

May-Aug: 20 hours total

Sept-Feb: 4 hours/week

Feb-Apr: 3 hours/week

● Collaborate with fellow executives to prepare the 2026/27 academic year budget, using historical budgets and current departmental needs

● Monitor and ensure that events align with the approved budget

● Manage and process team reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner

● Create and maintain event sign-up links to support smooth registration

● Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to planning and decision-making

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Highly organized with strong attention to detail

● Self-motivated and proactive, able to take initiative with minimal supervision

● Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen sense for prioritizing and reallocating funds effectively

● Proficient in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel

● Previous experience with the club is an asset, but not required

The Finance Director should be able to develop their communication skills throughout their term. As Finance Director, incumbents will also be able to meet and develop connections with business professionals. In addition, incumbents will have opportunities to use and develop skills in (but not limited to) the following areas:

● Technical proficiency

● Teamwork

● Initiative, and problem-solving

● A one-page resume outlining your most relevant experiences

● A cover letter describing:

o Why do you want to be involved in CAP?

o What would you bring to the program?
