### Summary

The POITS External Director is responsible for assisting the VP External and Co-Chairs in outreach with external partners including but not limited to alumni, sponsors, event collaborators, other clubs/services.

### Time Commitment

3-5 hours/week

### Main Responsibilities

Identify, reach out to, and secure corporate sponsors (e.g., alcohol brands, local businesses, party venues) to support POITS events
Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with existing sponsors and ensure proper sponsor recognition at events; help with liquor pickup
Collaborate with the VP External and Co-Chairs to identify and align on partnership opportunities to improve POITS

### Qualifications

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Comfortable with cold outreach and professional correspondence
Organized, proactive, and results-driven
Driver’s license/access to a car is considered an asset

### Learning outcomes

Develop practical skills in outreach and sponsorship acquisition
Strengthen negotiation, communication, and outreach capabilities
Gain insight into event marketing and partnership strategy within POITS
