Co-Chairs are responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and overall success of the Commerce Advocate Program. They work closely with executive team members to ensure that CAP initiatives align with organizational goals while building a strong, collaborative, and impactful team environment.
May-Aug: 20 hours total
Sept-Feb: 5-6 hours/week
Feb-Apr: 4 hours/week
● Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Commerce Advocate Program
● Oversee and support all executive team members in their respective roles
● Lead executive meetings and ensure alignment across all initiatives
● Collaborate with executives to plan and execute events, workshops, and initiatives
● Act as a point of contact between CAP and external stakeholders (e.g., faculty, partners, student organizations)
● Ensure all program initiatives align with CAP’s mission and values
● Monitor team performance and provide mentorship and guidance to executives
● Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of team members
● Address challenges proactively and ensure smooth program operations
● Strong leadership and team management skills
● Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
● Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
● Proactive and self-motivated with strong initiative
● Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
● Previous experience in CAP or similar student organizations is an asset
● Passion for student engagement and community building
The Co-Chair will develop advanced leadership and organizational skills throughout their term. This role provides opportunities to build meaningful connections and gain hands-on experience in managing a student-led initiative. The Co-Chair will develop skills in (but not limited to):
● Leadership and team management
● Strategic planning and execution
● Communication and stakeholder engagement
● Problem-solving and adaptability
● Organization and time management
