About this role

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Surveyor to join our expanding Measured Surveys team. This role is well suited to a geospatial surveyor with a few years’ experience across land, building, and engineering surveys, with a working knowledge of industry specifications and standards.

You will work across a range of projects, capturing, processing, and delivering high-quality survey outputs for our clients. The role offers a blend of site and office work, depending on project requirements. The position can be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh and will primarily involve assignments throughout Scotland, with occasional work across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out site surveys using Total Stations, laser scanners, GNSS, and UAS equipment.
  • Establish and verify survey control networks to underpin accurate data capture.
  • Process field data including point cloud registration, control network adjustment, and photogrammetric reconstruction.
  • Produce survey deliverables including topographic surveys, measured building surveys, 3D models, and survey reports.
  • Deliver accurate, complete survey data, drawings and models that meet project requirements and client expectations.

General Duties

  • Generally representing Egis in a professionally competent and positive manner, ensuring service quality and integrity is maintained to the highest possible standards.
  • Reporting to the client and other stakeholders in line with the client’s requirement and company standards.

Delivering an Excellent Client Experience

  • Maintain a professional manner when dealing with clients, consultants, and contractors on site and during project delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify survey objectives and ensure a shared understanding of project requirements.
  • Adapt to changing site conditions and client needs, demonstrating flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high-quality outcomes.

Contributing to the team

  • Take initiative in seeking guidance from senior colleagues when issues and challenges on assignments arise.
  • Engage in professional development and training within the business and externally.

    Qualifications

    • Degree or HND in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
    • An interest in working towards membership of RICS or CICES.
    • Competent across a range of survey instruments and data processing software.
    • Proficient in CAD; experience with Revit and photogrammetry software is desirable.
    • UAS qualification desirable.
    • Able to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Pro-active and enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team.
    • Confident and assertive where required.
    • Flexible approach to work.
    • A team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients.
