Assistant Project Manager, Power Systems
Your new role
As our new Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with senior Project Managers and technical leads to support the planning, execution, and delivery of power systems engineering projects across our growing portfolio. This is a role for someone who is technically grounded in electrical engineering, eager to grow into project ownership, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
You will gain direct exposure to project management fundamentals, client relationship management, and multi-disciplinary coordination, all within the context of meaningful infrastructure projects spanning substation design, large-scale renewables, and grid interconnection.
Your key responsibilities will be:
• Assist Project Managers in developing, tracking, and updating project plans, schedules, and budgets across active engagements
• Coordinate project activities across disciplines, ensuring deliverables are documented, tracked, and completed on time
• Monitor project progress against milestones and financial targets, flagging issues early and supporting resolution with the Project Manager
• Liaise with clients, subconsultants, and internal technical staff to gather information and keep project objectives aligned with client expectations
• Support preparation of project reports, meeting minutes, status updates, and client presentations
• Assist in the management of project resources, including labor planning and equipment procurement coordination
• Conduct risk assessments and assist in the development and tracking of mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with Ramboll QA/QC procedures and applicable industry standards throughout project execution
• Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and fee estimation
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment that values technical excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement

These include:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related field
• 2 to 5 years of experience in a power systems or electrical engineering role, with exposure to project-based work preferred
• Working knowledge of power systems engineering concepts, including substation design, generation interconnection, or transmission planning
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface professionally with clients and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); experience with project management tools such as MS Project is a plus
• PMP certification or active pursuit of PMP is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative when needed

Salary Transparency
At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $72,000 to $86,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
