What you'll do...

About Team

The In-Store Inventory team is part of the Store and OPD Tech pillar within Walmart Global Tech's US Omni and Platforms organization. We build associate-facing mobile experiences that power store operations at Walmart scale — serving hundreds of thousands of associates across 4,700+ stores in the US. Our team owns critical workflows within the MyWalmart App ecosystem, including TopStock (high-shelf inventory management) and Receiving (inbound freight and merchandise intake), enabling store associates to efficiently manage inventory from the moment goods arrive at the store through to the sales floor.

We are a high-impact team that sits at the intersection of mobile engineering, real-time inventory data, and in-store operational excellence. Every feature we ship directly improves the associate experience and helps Walmart run its supply chain with greater speed and accuracy.

What You'll Do

  • Architect, design, and deliver end-to-end features across the MyWalmart App — with a strong emphasis on the TopStock and Receiving workflows used daily by store associates nationwide.
  • Lead the full-stack development of React Native-based mobile experiences, ensuring high performance, offline resilience, and accessibility on in-store handheld devices.
  • Drive technical direction and set engineering standards for the mobile and frontend stack; mentor and elevate junior and senior engineers on the team.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to translate business requirements into elegant, scalable technical solutions.
  • Architect RESTful and GraphQL APIs that power associate-facing workflows, working in partnership with platform and data engineering teams.
  • Champion code quality through rigorous code reviews, automated testing (unit, integration, E2E), and adherence to Walmart's engineering standards.
  • Own the full software development lifecycle for your domain — from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and on-call operations.
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and UX friction points across mobile clients and supporting backend services.
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies and tools that improve engineering velocity and product quality across the team.
  • Represent the team in cross-functional forums, architecture reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

What You'll Bring

  • B.E/B.Tech or equivalent from a reputed institution.
  • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 4 years of hands-on React Native development for production mobile applications.
  • Deep expertise in React Native, including advanced topics such as native module bridging, custom navigation patterns, performance profiling, and device-specific optimizations (Android/iOS).
  • Strong full-stack engineering ability — proficient in building and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL services, with practical backend experience in Node.js, Java, or Kotlin.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale mobile applications with a focus on reliability, responsiveness, and offline-first design.
  • Solid understanding of mobile application architecture patterns — MVVM, Flux/Redux, Context API, and React Query — and the judgment to choose the right one for the problem.
  • Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, Jotai, or MobX) and asynchronous data-fetching patterns.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps — experience with CodePush, Fastlane, or equivalent deployment tooling is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring and technically guiding distributed engineering teams; ability to drive consensus and influence technical decisions without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to articulate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Experience with cloud-native platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS), containerized deployments, and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Prior experience building tools for retail, supply chain, or inventory management domains is a strong plus.
