Job Description

  • Direct and coordinate daily activities of Fresh production personnel in alignment with production schedules and direction from the Production Manager–Fresh.
  • Partner with leads to monitor production flow, labor placement, line readiness, and schedule completion.
  • Observe packaging and grading operations to ensure product quality, food safety, and conformance to company and customer standards.
  • Validate adherence to standard work processes and identify gaps impacting OEE, labor efficiency, quality, waste, or throughput.
  • Monitor production quantities to prevent overproduction, underproduction, unnecessary waste, and product quality concerns.
  • Review production schedules, work orders, charts, production reports, and KPI data to evaluate performance against daily targets.
  • Inspect materials, products, equipment, and line conditions to identify defects, malfunctions, safety risks, or operational barriers.
  • Monitor production flow and adjust staffing and line priorities in real time.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to ensure execution and support.
  • Compile, input, and report accurate production data, including production rates, downtime, material usage, waste, and progress against plan.
  • Monitor, maintain, and communicate production line efficiency while escalating issues that impact safety, quality, schedule, or performance.
  • Coach leads and production employees on safety, quality, productivity, standard work, and performance expectations.
  • Reinforce a safe work environment by promoting PPE compliance, safe work practices, timely hazard reporting, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Coordinate with support teams, including Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, Warehouse, and Planning, to resolve production issues and maintain flow.
  • Identify root causes of recurring production issues and support corrective actions that improve safety, quality, OEE, labor utilization, and waste reduction.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the Fresh production operation.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs and support organizational goals.

  • Ability to work with urgency while maintaining focus on safety, quality, productivity, and schedule attainment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze production performance, identify trends or gaps, and communicate results and corrective actions effectively.
  • Working knowledge of production schedules, labor utilization, line efficiency, waste reduction, quality standards, and OEE.
  • Ability to gather, summarize, and report KPIs accurately and effectively.
  • Ability to validate standard work processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle or similar production systems.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to support the operation as needed.
  • Promotes teamwork, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with support teams and customer-facing teams to resolve conflicts, remove barriers, and maintain production flow.
  • Experience using HRIS platforms such as UKG or similar systems.
  • Ability to manage employee records, attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping through HRIS platforms.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and analytics to improve production forecasting, workflow optimization, quality control, and operational efficiency

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of progressively responsible production experience, preferably in a manufacturing, food production, fresh produce, or packaging environment.
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience required, with demonstrated ability to direct teams, coach employees, and manage daily production execution.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, standard work processes, production scheduling, quality control, Fruit utilization, waste reduction, and OEE preferred.
  • Experience using production systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle, or similar ERP/reporting systems preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred, based on business needs.
