Description of Work

The Physician will perform physicals, diagnosing, managing medication, ordering and interpreting labs, EKGs, and imaging reports. This position will counsel patients on health maintenance, collaborating with healthcare teams, maintaining accurate records, and upholding ethical standards. The Physician will be responsible for daily rounds, writing progress notes, and updating treatment plans.

  • Knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of general medicine, preventative medicine and of the techniques involved.

  • Skill in treating and diagnosing a variety of diseases and injuries in the practice of an applicable specialty of medicine.

  • Ability to assess and interpret laboratory results, clinical data, and information relative to the patients condition.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associate personnel, patients and their families, and the general public.

This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

About the Facility:

The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in Greenville, NC: (1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose and mission of the Walter B. Jones Center is "To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery". The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and SAMHSA/CSAT. Two specialty programs are offered to all 100 NC Counties: (1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders.
