Description of Work

This position is located in the Guilford County Bridge Unit, supporting all Division 7 bridge offices. This role supports all Division 7 bridge offices by managing complex administrative and programmatic tasks. It serves as the unit’s administrative expert, handling bridge maintenance processes, analyzing financial and operational data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and resolving escalated issues. The position also oversees daily administrative operations across five counties and provides supervision, training, and workflow coordination for Bridge Maintenance Unit staff. A thorough understanding and knowledge of SAP is preferred for this position. The knowledge and understanding of personnel actions, including, but not limited to time entry and leave is preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade and Salary Range:  NC09    $41,206 - $72,113

Management prefers applicants with the following:

  • Experience reviewing detailed documents and records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access, Word and Excel. 
  • Experience compiling, assimilating and organizing both printed and electronic information.
  • Experience clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups.
  • Data entry experience entering and extracting information from a mainframe database or web-based source.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
