As the Occupational Safety Coordinator – Mutum Base (Macaé), you will be part of the Health, Safety, and Environment team, reporting directly to Emanuel Veiga – HSE Manager (SP&S Brazil).
This role is dedicated exclusively to the HSE activities associated with manufacturing and service operations conducted at the Mutum facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence through effective risk management, regulatory compliance, and strong leadership in occupational safety.
In this position, you will coordinate and ensure the implementation of HSE practices across all manufacturing and service activities within the facility, maintaining compliance with corporate standards and applicable legislation. You will serve as the local Occupational Safety leader and technical reference, fostering a strong culture of risk prevention and safe behavior throughout the workforce.
You will ensure the effective application of HSE procedures in activities such as assembly, testing, maintenance, and other operational processes carried out at the site. The role also involves monitoring and analyzing HSE performance indicators, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability while identifying trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement. Based on these analyses, you will develop and implement effective corrective actions and improvement plans.
As an Occupational Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Leading incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Acting as the primary HSE focal point within the facility, you will support operational teams and support functions, providing guidance and expertise to help achieve business objectives safely and responsibly.
- Conducting inspections, audits, and field observations to verify compliance with safety requirements and company expectations.
- Developing and reviewing procedures, risk assessments, and safe work practices to strengthen operational controls and support a proactive safety culture.
- Acting as a change agent, continuously promoting HSE excellence and driving sustainable improvements across the organization.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Holding a Technical Degree in Occupational Safety and have solid experience in Occupational Health and Safety management within industrial environments.
- Applying practical knowledge of manufacturing and service operations is essential, with experience involving pressure testing and industrial equipment considered highly valuable.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Brazilian Occupational Health and Safety legislation and demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
- Having previous experience within the oil and gas industry is desirable, as is familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Utilizing and having a proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and capable of developing clear and effective HSE management reports and presentations.
- Communicating fluently in Portuguese and English is mandatory.
Work Model
This is a fully on-site position based at the Mutum facility in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro.
