Job Description
The mission of the L2 Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst is to protect the organization against legal, financial, reputational, and operational risks associated with data leakage or improper handling of sensitive information.
This professional will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, and managing data protection alerts and incidents across multiple security platforms, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. The role will primarily support operations across South America, including Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, and other countries in the region.
As part of a global security operation supporting the Americas, the analyst will collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users to continuously improve DLP processes, controls, and detection capabilities.
Working Schedule:
- Winter Schedule: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Summer Schedule: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Hybrid flexibility:
- Employees may start their workday from the office.
- After 6:00 PM, they may continue working remotely from home.
Key Responsibilities
DLP Operations & Incident Handling
- Monitor real-time Data Loss Prevention (DLP) alerts across multiple security platforms.
- Identify, investigate, and manage potential data leakage events and policy violations.
- Perform data analysis to validate security incidents and assess potential business impact.
- Escalate incidents to appropriate technical teams for further investigation and remediation.
- Release legitimate outbound communications quarantined by DLP policies after proper validation.
- Track incidents through resolution and ensure proper closure and documentation.
DLP Policy Management
- Define and maintain DLP configurations, including:
- Rules
- Exceptions
- Detection patterns
- Use cases
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of DLP controls and monitoring capabilities.
- Support implementation, testing, and validation of new DLP policies and security enhancements.
Reporting & Stakeholder Support
- Produce operational metrics, reports, and performance indicators related to DLP activities.
- Support documentation efforts, knowledge management, and process standardization.
- Provide guidance and support to end users regarding data protection requirements and DLP-related issues.
- Collaborate with technical teams to optimize platform performance and improve detection accuracy.
Qualifications
Data Protection & Security
- Strong knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data security concepts, insider threats, and data protection frameworks.
- Solid understanding of incident investigation, remediation processes, ticket management, escalation procedures, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience analyzing security events and handling data leakage incidents.
Security Tools
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following solutions:
- Microsoft DLP
- Symantec DLP
- McAfee DLP
- Cisco IronPort (Secure Email Gateway)
Regulatory Knowledge
- Basic understanding of data privacy and protection regulations, including:
- LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law)
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

- Previous experience in Security Operations Center (SOC), Cybersecurity Operations, or Data Protection environments.
- Experience supporting multinational operations and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with security incident management frameworks and best practices.
