Job Description

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (SCM) Functional Consultant – Roles & Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to Supply Chain Management processes.
• Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to understand current ("As-Is") processes and design future ("To-Be") business processes.
• Configure and implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management modules based on business requirements.
• Implement and support Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Procurement and Sourcing, Product Information Management, Master Planning, Sales Order Processing, and Transportation Management modules.
• Configure inventory dimensions, item models, storage dimensions, tracking dimensions, and inventory policies.
• Set up procurement workflows, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, and sourcing policies.
• Configure warehouse management processes including locations, work templates, location directives, mobile device menus, and wave processing.
• Implement product lifecycle management, item master data, product variants, bills of materials (BOM), and engineering change management.
• Configure demand forecasting, master planning parameters, safety stock, replenishment strategies, and supply planning.
• Support production planning by configuring production orders, route management, resource scheduling, and capacity planning where applicable.
• Coordinate data migration activities including master data validation, cleansing, transformation, and loading.
• Collaborate with technical consultants to define integrations with third-party applications, ERP systems, logistics providers, and external vendors.
• Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDD), Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Solution Design Documents (SDD), and process flow documentation.
• Perform fit-gap analysis and recommend standard Dynamics 365 SCM functionality or appropriate customizations.
• Support development teams by reviewing functional specifications and validating customizations.
• Configure security roles, business processes, workflows, and approval hierarchies.
• Execute System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and support defect resolution.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve functional issues during implementation and post-production support.
• Provide end-user training, create user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge transfer documentation.
• Support deployment planning, cutover activities, and go-live readiness.
• Provide hypercare support during post-go-live stabilization.
• Work closely with finance, manufacturing, sales, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless end-to-end business processes.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and supply chain best practices.
• Participate in solution demonstrations, presales activities, effort estimation, and proposal preparation.
• Recommend process improvements to optimize inventory accuracy, procurement efficiency, warehouse operations, and supply chain performance.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and recommend continuous improvements.
