Job Role: Business Operations & Growth Manager
Compensation range: $3,000 - $3,5000 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Business Operations & Marketing Manager to work directly with the CEO and take ownership of both the company's operations and marketing function.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who enjoys building systems, improving processes, and driving execution across the business. You will oversee marketing strategy, operational improvements, internal systems, and cross-functional projects while helping the CEO scale the organization.
Rather than waiting for direction, you'll identify priorities, solve problems, and take ownership of initiatives from planning through execution. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to improve operational efficiency, strengthen marketing performance, and reduce founder dependency through better systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Operations & Process Improvement
- Partner with the CEO to improve business operations and execution.
- Build, document, and continuously improve SOPs, workflows, and internal systems.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
- Lead cross-functional projects from planning through completion.
- Build dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into key business activities.
- Improve communication, accountability, and operational efficiency across the organization.
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Own the company's marketing strategy across digital channels.
- Develop and execute campaigns for programs, events, and community initiatives.
- Build and manage the marketing calendar.
- Manage website content, newsletters, social media, and brand communications.
- Create or oversee high-quality marketing assets using Canva and AI tools.
- Measure campaign performance and continuously optimize results.
Systems & AI Automation
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive workflows using AI.
- Build AI-assisted processes for research, reporting, documentation, content creation, and administration.
- Recommend new systems and tools that improve efficiency.
- Review and quality-check AI-generated work before publication.
Executive Partnership
- Act as a trusted operational partner to the CEO.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives and ensure priorities move forward.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and business documentation.
- Anticipate challenges and recommend practical solutions.
- Keep leadership informed through proactive communication and progress updates.
Requirements
- 5+ years in business operations, marketing, project management, or a similar leadership role.
- Experience improving business systems and operational processes.
- Proven experience independently managing marketing from strategy through execution.
- Strong Canva and digital marketing experience.
- Experience managing websites using Wix or similar CMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of AI tools including ChatGPT and Claude.
- Experience with Asana, Google Workspace, and modern collaboration tools.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Comfortable working directly with founders or senior executives.
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to work autonomously.
