Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients receiving inpatient or outpatient treatment.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies in accordance with physician orders and established protocols (if applicable to the assignment).
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions before, during, and after treatments.
- Recognize and respond promptly to adverse reactions, oncologic emergencies, and changes in patient condition.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Adhere to all hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based oncology nursing practices.
