Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures by completing assessments, reviewing medical histories, obtaining informed consent, and providing education.
• Assist physicians during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty (PCI), stent placement, peripheral vascular interventions, and other cardiovascular procedures.
• Administer medications, including moderate sedation, in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, and patient responses throughout procedures.
• Recognize and respond promptly to emergency situations, including cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic instability.
• Recover and monitor patients following procedures, providing discharge instructions when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in required on-call rotation and respond to emergency STEMI activations as needed.
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention, radiation safety, and quality standards.
