Job Description

As a Production Engineer you will lead the engineering and quality agenda with the overall goal to improve the customer satisfaction. As part of the business team, you will work together with the suppliers to develop and secure the production process, handling of quality deviations and secure compliance to all IKEA requirements. 

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Secure Quality Assurance, including supporting implementation of process control for key production processes
  • Perform product audits and production risk assessments at suppliers
  • Lead the running range at suppliers to secure full compliance with IKEA requirements
  • Lead supplier development for quality and manufacturing, including identifying and implementing improvement actions
  • Execute Supplier Development Process projects
  • Lead product deviation processes, ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Secure implementation of new and updated requirements
  • Secure final inspections and provide regular feedback to suppliers regarding quality performance
  • Contribute to development projects with a technical perspective
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure product launches are delivered on time
  • Contribute to product development with customer needs in focus

Act as an IKEA ambassador in all situations

Qualifications

  • Engineering/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical background in horticulture
  • Very good knowledge of horticultural product requirements, standards, and test methods
  • Understanding of customer needs and expectations
  • Experience in horticultural production technologies
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong analytical and structured mindset with a focus on processes and continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to lead projects, make decisions, and solve problems holistically
  • Results-driven and self-motivated, with strong prioritization skills
  • Customer- and business-focused approach, balancing quality and cost

Additional Information

Please note This role requires frequent travel 30-40%
