Junior Software Engineer I Networking Solutions

 
We are looking for an ambitious Junior Software Engineer  to join our growing R&D team in Vilnius to help us grow our global presence in IoT sector by quickly and effectively responding to changing market needs and offers reliable, safe and easy-to-use solutions for such areas as Industry 4.0, Smart City, and Green Energy.

Teltonika’s networking solutions business unit develops and manufactures industrial and enterprise connectivity equipment, primarily routers, switches, gateways, and modems. Our networking devices serve clients in the most complex areas of Industry 4.0, Smart City, and Green Energy.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain VPN solutions, dynamic routing services, and APIs. 
• Implement and optimize software solutions for networking equipment. 
• Analyse new technologies and their integration possibilities. 
• Solve problems in network devices and their communication. 
• Collaborate in an agile team environment, contributing to continuous improvement. 
• Work closely with frontend, UI/UX, and QA colleagues to deliver innovative solutions. 
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues. 

What we expect of you:

• Knowledge about computer networks (TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, routing basics, switching, VLAN, NAT, DNS, DHCP). 
• Knowledge of Linux based systems (command line usage, system services, file systems, networking tools). 
• Knowledge of security in network and network devices (firewall concepts, iptables, nftables). 
• Experience with scripting in Bash. 
• Technical education. 
• Good written and verbal English skills. 
• Experience developing, configuring, and maintaining VPN services (OpenVPN, IPsec, Wireguard) is an advantage. 
• Experience with dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) is an advantage.  
• Experience in Lua, Python scripting is an advantage. 
• Knowledge in C programming is an advantage. 
• Experience of working with OpenWRT/VyOS/Yocto is an advantage.

Salary 

We appreciate everyone's efforts and experiences, so we offer an attractive salary matching your skillset and field expertise. The salary for this position ranges from 17 Eur/h up to 24 Eur/h (~2990 Eur—3650 Eur) pre-tax, depending on your experience and expertise, with the option to get bonuses. 

*In an employment agreement, we specify and define a fixed (tariff) hourly salary rate before taxes.
