Handyman (Casual)

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and practical Handyperson on a casual basis to join our facilities team at our location in Constance Prince Maurice, Mauritius. In this role, you will provide essential maintenance and repair support across our premises, ensuring that all facilities remain in excellent working order.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and painting to maintain facilities in good condition
• Respond to maintenance requests and repair issues in a timely manner, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.
• Conduct inspections of building systems, fixtures, and fittings to identify potential issues before they escalate.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and appropriately
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work completed and materials used
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and organisational standards.
• Collaborate with other team members and external contractors when necessary to complete larger projects.

Qualifications

• NC 3 in Engineering or any related qualification.
• Previous experience in hotel maintenance or a similar maintenance role is preferred.
• Good knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and the safe use of tools and equipment.
• Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
