Job Description
We are seeking a Surveyor to join our team at Capcoal Lake Lindsay Mine. Reporting to the Survey Coordinator, you will be an energetic mining professional looking for an opportunity to develop your career in mine surveying. You will provide best practice survey services to support mining operations while ensuring your surveys comply with statutory requirements and with Anglo American surveying standards. Key duties and responsibilities include:
Provide survey set out, pickup, reconciliation and reporting services
Work closely with Technical Services and Production crews to align survey outputs with operational goals.
Survey volumes/calculations for waste excavation, coal mining and rehabilitation quantities for end of month reporting
Provision of design compliance plans on a weekly basis or as required
Provide as built surfaces using Maptek scanners, Trimble GPS & Total stations, and RPAS photogrammetry and LiDAR surveys, weekly or as required
Producing GIS structured maps using ESRI suites and Global mapper
Qualifications
Degree in Surveying or Spatial Science
Remote Pilot License (RePL) – Desirable
Mine Surveying experience within an Open Cut coal mining operation with demonstrated ability to work towards registration via the QLD surveyor's board
Technical proficiency in the use of data processing and design software used in mine surveying
Demonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targets
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by adopting innovative survey technologies and workflows.
Ability to understand functionality of business systems and provide relevant data for business purposes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with being a team player in safely achieving targets.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure all survey activities comply with statutory requirements and Anglo American standards.
Support the maintenance of the Coal Mine Working Plan and other regulatory submissions.
Apply Anglo American’s rigorous safety standards in all survey activities, ensuring a zero-harm approach.
Conduct risk assessments before fieldwork and implement safe work practices when operating UAVs, GPS equipment, and scanning system
Contribute to innovation by integrating new technologies and improving workflows without compromising safety.
