Role Overview
- The Surgeon is responsible for the comprehensive management of patients throughout the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative phases as part of a multi-disciplinary medical team. In addition to clinical duties, the Surgeon serves as the clinical lead for surgical facilities, providing leadership in support of the Medical Director. This role is based within our European projects, with potential for deployment across various locations in the region to support long-term project stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Surgical Care: Execute surgical interventions, with a focus on damage control and emergency procedures, to preserve life, limb, and long-term physical function.
- Team Leadership: Lead and synchronize the activities of specialists, nursing staff, and other medical personnel.
- Patient Assessment: Identify, evaluate, and document medical conditions and potential surgical risks.
- Casualty Stabilization: Support the emergency clinical team in stabilizing and maintaining casualties prior to medical evacuation by land or air.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate closely with the broader medical team to maintain seamless continuity of patient care.
- Administrative Diligence: Ensure all medical records are accurately updated, maintained, and securely stored.
- Clinical Reporting: Provide regular clinical updates and performance data as required by management.
- Staff Mentorship: Contribute to the professional growth of the team through clinical mentoring and guidance.
- Quality & Compliance: Uphold best practices in accordance with established clinical guidelines, SOPs, and the overarching clinical excellence framework.
- Strategic Support: Assist the Medical Director in maintaining and advancing high clinical standards.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- University Degree in Medicine: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Specialization: A specialist qualification and/or formal education program in Surgery.
- Certifications:
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) or equivalent.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or equivalent.
